Great Blue Heron

Sunset Pond at North Chagrin Reservation was crowded this afternoon as people poured out of their houses and into the park to celebrate the beautiful spring day. The sky was blue and, although I don't know the exact temperature, I know it was warm...actually warm for the first time in months. This blue heron was showing off for the families walking around Sunset Pond. I didn't get a good picture of him, but was lucky to get any picture at all because just as he almost came within range of my lens, a woman near me squealed, "Oh look, a blue heron!" I will go back another day soon to try for a better picture...but not on a weekend when the hordes are out.
