Life through a lens

Taken at the top of portland bill lighthouse in Dorset this is the lens used to transmit the 1000watt light out to see. 4 flashes over twenty second rotation. The lens, it's housing and the 3/4 tonne Mercury bed it sits on totals 3.5 tonne. An impressive lighthouse by Trinity House
