Late to the races

Putney Bridge. The day after the boat race.

A busy day...

In the morning I made a rare appearance for the University's vets footie team. Started off at left back (the other full back must have a shockingly bad left foot). Playing into the wind, we finished the first half 3-2 down. And then, early in the second half, a good save prevented us going down 4-2. Unfortunately, the save was made by the one-footed right back. So it was a penalty and he was sent off. Afte the penalty, we were down by two goals and one player. So it was inevitable that we would win 5-4. And we did!

Then it was straight off to Putney to see M. He had requested a visit from his mum and dad. Which was very sweet. Oh, and could we bring his bike? hmm. Maybe a little less sweet.

It was good to see him and we had fish and chips in a pub overlooking the Sunny Thames. Very good.

And now it's time for a glass of wine and grumpy Mr Poldark.
