King of Ward 8
I'm sure my ward is pretty much the same as every ward in any hospital.
Every person is just a cog in an engine and we can't work without each cog working, everyone is as important as the next from top consultants to dinner ladies and porters. So the PAT dogs are officially part of ward 8s team and play a very important part with patients getting better and returning back to home or nursing homes.
A week or so MiMi the PAT dog met this young 100 year old lady, so today along with Roo we visited her again.
She was very impressed with Roos adventures, although she's very taken by diva dog MiMi.
We also have an elderly lady who has had a severe stroke and hasn't properly woke up she's very poorly, her daughter asked if Roo could sit with her mum today, we didn't get a response but we don't give up and Roo will try again soon.
He did bring comfort to her daughter who told me it was all getting a little too much for her watching her dad sitting next to mum trying to talk her round.
It's not the easiest of jobs sometimes but the dogs real help.
