Sky graffiti

This was the remarkable scene when I arrived at the nature reserve this morning. This part of the Chilterns experiences rather a lot of air traffic, with both Luton and Heathrow airports nearby, and the conditions in that clear sky this morning were causing lasting traces from every aircraft, it seemed. Either that or some alien invasion force was broadcasting a very large message in their own peculiar geometric alphabet!
