Welsh Rarebit
It's a truly marvellous thing that the Welsh national dish is cheese on toast!
We went into Cardiff this afternoon as Julie had an appointment with a laser eye surgery company, I also had a couple of albums to pick up from Spillers Records.
It was lunchtime by the time we got to Spillers so we decided to check out the coffee shop next to it. One I have looked through the windows many a time, but never actually been in. We had a wonderful lunch in there. The food was excellent. Dawn had Welsh Rarebit with poached egg, I had a cheese and ham toastie, and Julie a salmon sarnie.
Whilst Julie was in her appointment, me and Dawn went for a wander and ended up in another excellent new cafe/ bar type place in Queen Street. Mind you, it seems that now every shop closes in Queen Street a coffee shop reopens in its place, there will be nothing to buy anywhere any more ..
After a roast beef dinner tonight we went down for a pint in the Barn to finish of Julies holiday.
Tomorrow life begins to return to normal after a two week adventure ...
