A very long read.

Got this book for Xmas 09. Started it. Put it down. Weeks and months later I'd return to it and read the odd page or two, then put it away again. So it's now the end of May 2012 and I think I should have another go at it. Which is all a bit of shame as I've devoured everything else Ellroy has written very quickly. So what is it about this book that has taken me nearly 3 years to get not even half way through? It's not as if it's rubbish either, what I have read, I've enjoyed. This has happened once before though. Underworld by Don Delillo, great book, but it took me an eternity to get through.
