Magnesium Limestone outcrop
Walking with the dogs this morning along the Linesway (Kippax) we climbed up towards Town Close Hills, known locally as "Billy Wood" which is an SSSI Nature Reserve. Thought this outcrop of rocks interesting. The huge rock must have fallen from the top because there is no way it could have been lifted onto the rocks it's perched on, it would be far too heavy and not in a place where any heavy lifting machinery could have been used. This area was used for quarrying in the far distant past.
The morning was not too cold but quite breezy, which turned to wild windy weather and now it's raining. No gardening today. Back to Painting
