Christophe Verger...

...is an artist based in Mornac - a village by the oyster beds and marshes of the Charente- Maritime. Mrs L P and I are the proud owners of one of his paintings and every year we look longingly at the pictures on show in his gallery. 

They are beauties. They capture perfectly the watery light over the estuary, with the fishing cabins scattered randomly in the distance.

Yesterday he had an open evening. It was a pleasure to meet him at last. On all previous occasions we have been greeted by his charming wife. There was more temptation on offer. Perhaps next time...
