Zola Zola

Mary and the students visited one of our real success stories, Zola Zola Community Day Secondary School, to see their new school.
About 5 years ago Mary visited a ramshackle school with a few poorly equipped classroom in the middle of what appeared a wilderness, even though close to the city.
Each year since, our students visited, worked with students and teachers to improve standards. Mary also took on management structures, working with all including local Ministry people.
She also befriended the principal Rhoda, a truly unique woman, with whom she worked on each visit to move the school along.
It is astounding that even this small input brought the school to the notice of the powers that be and wad chosen by an arm of the Japanese Government JICA, who have built a state of the art school including a hostel for 128 girls.
Maybe its not all you do, but maybe its betting on the right person and project thus encouraging those with the money to achieve your goals.
