I'd thought about going up Wansfell and walking over to Troutbeck. Once out of the door I realised how cold it was and a hail shower soon after made me alter my plans and do a much lower and shorter route up Stock Ghyll beyond the waterfalls. 

These roots were catching the light nicely though the rest of the tree had seen better times.
