On top of the world?
Not quite, but we were very high up!
Whilst driving around the utterly deserted Mt Buller Alpine village, we took a random turn and ended up driving to the car park just below the summit, but above all the ski lifts, which was bizarre.
We bundled on as many clothes as we could find in the back of the car, and braved the wind and 5°C temps to stand 1800 m above sea level to watch the sunset. It was one of the unexpected highlights of our short holiday in the Victorian Alps.
