Looking Up at Jason's Loft
We got here safely. Sleeping was a bit iffy but we finally figured out how to make that happen. We didn't get up until 10:30 local time. We took all the time we needed to get going this moring. It was noon by the time we ventured out.
Jason happened to be arriving home and so he joined us for a meal. On the way, there were some men working and they had thick rubber mats down to protect people. Unfortunately instead they tripped Arvin who took a header. Back we went to Jason's to clean Arvin up. His nose and knee were skinned but he was okay.
We went out again to a lovely coffee shop for a very late brunch. Then Jase headed off the work and we took the G line to Prospect Park. What a beautiful day. Cool, clear and gorgeous. So we acted like "little old folks" and took a leisurely walk and sat on a bench for quite awile talking to folks and petting dogs as they passed. Perfect and relaxing time.
We walked back to the subway and stopped for coffee before heading back to Jason's. Now I'm blipping and Arvin is taking a bit of a nap.
The evening we are going to Meghan's for dinner and a conversation with a friend of hers who is doing a documentary on Los Alamos. I'm lending her Mom's book and talking about my thoughts on the place. I have no actual memories because I was way too small. But I remember much of what Mom said about it over the years.
I'm putting other pictures on Flickr each day for those who want to see more of the pictures I'm taking during the trip. Can't seem to find the way to create a link on my iPad... Maybe this will work:
Brooklyn, NY album by Ann Chaikin on Flickr.

PS. Dinner was lovely and it turned out that Meghan's friend actually wrote a fictional script about Los Alamos. We really enjoyed our evening together. I leant her Mom's book to give back to Meg when she is finished reading it. Jase joined us for desert. Perfect end to a lovely day.
