Lemon and mint
This week I bought some xylitol mints, some are flavoured with Hampshire grown mint oil and the packet blipped here are flavoured with the same mint plus lemon oil. Instead of eating sugar filled mints these will be better for my teeth and my waist.
Xylitol is apparently very good for your teeth, if you have between 5 and 10 g per day, the bacteria in your mouth absorb it but can't ferment it so they starve and you get less tooth decay. You don't want much more than 10 g per day, as we can't absorb or digest it well but the bacteria in our colon can, and you may get flatulence and it can even be laxative too...
Tomorrow morning I'll have a weigh in and find out if I'm still on track!
