Empty Nest

The bluebirds fledged this morning, all within a couple of minutes of one another. It was very exciting!! I am happy to report that all five made it safely out of the nest!

Looking back, I was incorrect about the count. I was one day off. Today was actually day 18 since they hatched. Right on schedule. 

This is the first one out, and the only one I got shots of. The others came out of the box and made a hard right across the street to a large tree.

I have since gone out and cleaned the old nest out of the box, cleaned and dried the box, and have it ready for round two. I can't wait!!
