You can never have enough warriors!

Well, the emperor wanted the warriors to be areplica of his army because he believed that after they died their soul would go into the terracotta warrior and then they could fight for him. However, he had so many enemies and one of them went in and broke all the soldiers and stole all the real weapons that each was holding so that he would not have them in the afterlife. This is why they are pretty much all broken. They have been expertly put back together and presented at the site. Our guide said it took a year and a half to piece together each warrior.!
