The Girls

Four new lambs on the morning rounds and then packed up the pick up to head to a farm 60miles away to go gathering. Its quite a small low gather this one with not much of a walk out to take some of the energy off the dogs before they meet in with the sheep. Even so they were very calm and well behaved, especially when we met in with a lone tup (ram) who had spent the winter on the hill as he had not come in on the last gather. He was a little weak and if we had pushed him too hard he would have laid down and so we wouldn't have got him in. Thankfully my dogs stayed into heal and nice and steady and gave him space as we slowly brought him in. He will get treatments and fed everyday now.

After gathering I went to my parents house to clean up and out for a meal for my friends birthday where there was a lot of chatting!! Brought my dogs dinners with me so they were fed and left with my dad while I went out, much to their disgust. After the meal I made the long trip home and straight to bed!! A long but nice day!!

The strangest thing was in the afternoon we could smell smoke on the wind but have no idea where the smoke was coming from!!
