New Life

Whilst I was making a cup of tea at work this morning I noticed this Mallard with fourteen ducklings swimming around on the pond.   By the time I'd got my camera from the car she had brought them onto the bank and they were resting in the sunshine.  
The survival rate isn't very high unfortunately, out of a batch of eighteen a few days ago there are less than half that number now.   Heart breaking but that's nature I guess, although it doesn't make it any easier to accept.  There will be very few of these babies left when I go back on Monday!
