Hanging greens

We have a small garden and not enough space to devote to everything I would like to grow, so this year I'm trying out the bags on the fence. They are fairly shaded but do get sun at times in the day.

They should be safe from slug like creatures that chomp holes in tasty leaves, but as I walked away after hanging them up yesterday two collard doves wandered along the top of the fence and had a peak!!
"Just don't think about it"!!!
