Tunnock's van at House of Bruar
As is customary, we called at the House of Bruar on our drive south today. Given my affection for all things chocolate, and especially the produce of Mr T. Tunnock, I was delighted to spot this van there.
We also took a welcome break for lunch with our friends T and S in Pitlochry. The meal (which was delicious) nearly ended in disaster when a plastic chopping board caught light on the hob in the kitchen while we were drinking tea and coffee in the dining room. Fortunately S had the good sense to investigate 'the strange smell coming from the kitchen' before the house went up in smoke.
The kitchen incident was almost repeated back at our flat. Our friend K, who has been staying at our house while we have been away, left a cling film wrapped pyrex dish on the hob, then lit the gas beneath it by accident when she offered us a cup of tea on our arrival back in Edinburgh.
Here's hoping we get through the evening without any further possible pyrotechnic catastrophes!
Exercise today: none.
