Outdoor Hyacinths

Every year I buy a selection of spring flowering ecobulbs from the Organic Gardening Catalogue. It has varieties I've never seen elsewhere plus seeds, composts, grow bags and pest control products that are kind to nature. These 6 potted outdoor hyacinths have opened out in the last few days of  sunshine and are at their peak. I wish you could smell them - just glorious!

Ecobulbs are not forced, not treated with chemicals, but given time to grow in natural conditions and, if stored correctly, they stay in good condition to bloom for several years. So cost-wise it works out no more expensive. I photographed these in the early morning with the light from behind which brings out the beautiful green of its glossy pointed leaves. Our patio has also just been given a power wash, so perfect background too!
