Spring--An Ornamental Poppy!

To hasten spring, I worked on a free-form Poppy.
I am still in my experimental mode with watercolor
on canvas.  This time I mostly stayed within applied
water puddles, but added more gum arabic/water
mixture in a spray bottle....I also used more of the
gum in paint mixtures---I wanted a slight gloss and
more control.  Gum arabic is the medium that carries
watercolor pigment in watercolor tubes.

Also, my goal was to hasten spring by painting
spring blooms....Hurry spring!  Hurry spring!  There
were terrible tornadoes in Illinois last night with
a 50 mile distruction path.....I am grateful we have
not had tornado warnings........yet!  We did get rain
though and our sump pump worked the first time
since last fall!
