Wait for me!
It was a steady day. I hardly took any pictures at all. I got one starling and lost his feet. I walked over the fields after work to where people watch the planes. You could tell it was the school holidays with lots of kids and their pissed off parents wandering around.
However, I got a bench right underneath the flight path as the planes take off. I put on my best 'nutter on the bus' expression and that guaranteed I have no one else sitting next to me.
I'm glad they don't allow passengers to use the loos during take off and landing. Being right underneath the planes is quite amazing. You almost imagine that you can reach up to stroke the underbelly.
I was chatting on the phone in between shots. The roar of the engines from above and the rumble of the trains on my left passing through Marston Green Station or Birmingham International could be heard clearly when I dropped the phone on the bench to pick up my camera.
I'm not very good at catching planes. However, I did get a couple of full ones but like this one where I missed the nose best.
