The Fairy pools
I have gone to Skye many times in my life, but this is the first time I've ever gone to see these pools. Found in Glen Brittle they are a run of small waterfalls and pools of green water from the minerals dissolved in the water from the Culllin mountain ridge.
It is a truly special place. So much so that bus loads of tourists were arriving to walk the 5 km path up to the top of the pools. We waited till late afternoon before entering the fray, so most people were heading for dinner and we didn't have to rush, as we had Claudette to sit and have coffee and nibbles. She is good to us...our camper van.
After a mixed menu of spicy sweet potato with pulled pork and stuffed peppers, we slept well.( Despite it).
If you get there very early in the morning, or wait till late evening, it can be a wonderful sight.
BTW, this is an arch that you can swim under below the water.
