Sacrist's Gate, Ely

This is one of the gates giving access from the High Street into the Cathedral Precincts. On this side of the gate is all the commerce and traffic of this small city - go through it and you are in an oasis of quiet, lawns, trees, seats to rest on, and of course the ancient Cathedral as the background. Today was a beautiful, warm spring day - ideal for sitting in the precincts  and enjoying the peace and quiet for a few minutes.
