Garden plant?

Tidied up the garden today before the forecast rains came. Not sure what this plant is. We bought it from a National Trust property shop, but it has purple flowers and these shoots on it.
Just made it inside when a really heavy shower came down.
Did a bit of work in Photoshop, then used Silver Efex Pro for a bit of stylizing.
