Powderham Castle

What's on the menu for the banquet tonight? Venison, Pheasant or roast Lamb?

As a non-meat eater I'm sad that these animals end up on someone's dinner plate but I guess that's the reason the Earl of Devon keeps these animals on his land, that and the fact that they are sold in the large food hall next to the garden centre and the extensive tea rooms.

Anyway we had a nice walk around the boundaries of Powderham Castle, taking photos through the fencing, followed by a cup of tea and a purchase of vegetarian quiche and a very nice bread loaf from their food hall.

Earlier we'd had morning coffee in the Clipper then gone to Dawlish to see Colin.
