This Ride Opens….

This Ride Opens…. a long time ago - me and my big brother at Butlins.  I have spent the afternoon photographing 35mm slides from my childhood. 

What do you do with old 35mm slides, it’s such a faff setting up a projector and screen, and over time they become dusty and deteriorate just sitting in a box in a cupboard.  I have been searching for a way to digitise them without scanning as it is so time consuming and it would be nice to preserve them the best I can. 

I had the idea of using a lightbox and photographing them, the results have been surprisingly good some have taken quite a bit of processing to remove dust marks and some have had to be converted to black and white as the colours could not be corrected.
