Toad haul

These two toads, seen in the large pond at Sizergh Castle, were inseperable! They can stay in this carnal embrace for hours, during which time the female has an enormous burden to carry around. I know you feminists will say that in humans this sacrifice goes on for half a lifetime! At least, in toads, it is restricted to a relatively short breeding season.

Had a great morning meeting Knottman2 in Arnside and going for a delightful walk around some of his special places. Thanks Ken, we really enjoyed it.
