Old Fashion Sugaring

This adorable sugar shack caught my eye, as I was driving by.  They were feeding the wood stove that heats up the large vats to boil it down to syrup.
Everything this family did was as it was done years ago.  The maple trees were tapped with the metal buckets, instead of plastic lines.
It's definitely a labor of love.  It's nearing the end of the maple syrup season, but they are taking advantage of the cold nights this week.
With this door opened, the sweet smell of maple syrup filled the air!  Such a delight to see.
