Red and Orange Tulips

I'm grateful my neighbors have lovely tulips blooming now.  This one is very striking, with the red tulip being edged in a bit of orange.

Just fussing around today and I watched one of my TV shows that I recorded..."Who Do You Think You Are?"  This one featured Tony Goldwyn, son and grandson of Sam and Sam Goldwyn Jr of decades of Hollywood fame.  He is an actor and currently plays the President in Scandal onTV.  His mother's ancestor, as we come to find out among other things, was Nathaniel Coe married to Mary.  In their late 50's they journeyed by ship to the Isthmus of Panama, did the uncomfortable journey over to the Pacific, got another ship and ended up in Portland, during the mid 1850's. Then they went up the Columbia River and homesteaded their farm which became the town of Hood River!  In fact, Mary changed the name of Dog River to Hood River.  We were just up there not long ago to the Hood River Valley.  That was an interesting show for me, since it showed this area on TV.  And the historian back in New York, where Tony Goldwyn went to learn about his ancestor before they came West, better learn how to say Oregon.  It is ORY-GUN not ORE-GONE.  Tony, a west coast guy, new how to say it just fine.
