The View from the Afternoon

Rounded off our trip to Wales with a 6 mile round walk to reservoir one,then the lido and then reservoir two. Such beautifully picturesque places in these valleys. Brought up conversation of childhood memories from mum and my uncle about various summers spent diving into the lido. I also found that my mother used to be a bit of a thrill seeker- crawling through river sluice pipes and sliding down mountain drains!
The walk there also involved tracing the very steps my grandfather took to the pit every evening for his night shift for a whole forty years! Was weird to see the ground flattened where the pit once stood majestically.
Really wish I could pick up this place and put it amongst our town.
Journey home to not look forward to tomorrow although I have secretly missed the other half a tad.
