Northern Star

First macro for ages!

Stunningly sunny day, very unexpected and possibly the only fully sunny warm day on a bank holiday Monday that I can recall. I had to take my jumper off early on as I was weeding and roasting hot. I sat out till 8pm, about an hour after I stopped work. The sunset was glorious, the birds were singing like crazy. It was lovely, very, very different and most likely won't happen again for a while.

Spent the day tidying and gardening. The front of the house looks the best it ever has. Neat, white pebbles and white gravel. Zen like. I have washed down the front door and surrounds and even painted the door bell (it is a physical bell btw!) metallic purple just for a smile :-)

Emptied and washed the 3 wooden mini greenhouses and sorted most of the large plastic poly tunnel in the garden. It smells awful in there so I have left it open to air. The compost bins are overflowing so I have started a new compost area.

Trained my small purple roses up the trellis a bit more, more attention than they have had in the last 6 years. They will, finger crossed look ace this year.Sorted all the herb pots and they smell decent.

Spotted this chap dragging his lunch home on top of one of the greenhouses today. Saw a baby blackbird on the lawn unable to fly earlier, both parents nearby and stressed. Would have made a great blip but I didn't want to add to the stress levels of all birds involved so I moved well away. Happy to report  it all worked out ok in the end :-)

I hope this is the first sign of spring weather . . .
