Amelanchier Lamarckii

No sign of the sun this morning......very still and a bit murky when we walked to the shop for a morning paper.

We had already planned to spend the day working in our garden as there is a lot to do! Lots more weeding needed, before we begin to think about where to place the new plants and that can't happen until the new trellis panels are put up!

The sun broke through around midday giving us a lovely afternoon. Think I should have put some sun block on....I now have a rather pink nose :-/

I did plant up some new primulas and the blue anemones that I blipped a couple of days ago.
Hub clipped back one of the honeysuckles and thinned out the bamboo.....he was ferriting around in the thick of it, so I had to direct him to the tall ones that needed to be cut back, it was quite amusing watching him ;-)

The blue tits are definitely nesting in our box, whilst we were sat havng lunch we could hear Mrs Bluetits beak knocking inside the box as she busily went about making her nest, whilst Mr Bluetits sat up in the maple tree on guard!

I almost blipped a frog which was hopping across the patio towards the pond, but by the time I'd got my camera, I just saw his final hop into the water :-(

Instead I plumped for this shot of our small Amelanchier tree, which currently lives in a large pot beside the pond. It has small white flowers which are followed by lovely bronze coloured leaves.

Pasta with homemade tomato onion garlic & chilli sauce, with roasted chicken thighs for tea, mmmm delish :-)

Ahhhh so nice to have a day at home with no demands, just doing our own thing :-)
