Bombylius Major
The sun came out today and the air was buzzing with insects waking up to their busy life. I am so happy to have found the Bombylius Major ! Commonly known as a Bee-fly but I much prefer it's very impressive "scientific" name.
It is a fly but quite an unusual one with hairy bee like body and this impressive proboscis which it uses to feed on flower nectar.
We've spent most of the day walking and relaxing in the sunshine, just wonderful day.
