planes
Last day of the holidays (for me at least) and a quick trip to the RAF museum in North London; well worth a visit. Lots to see, the +3s spent the whole time racing from one huge plane to another and I spent the time uncovering some long lost facts from too many hours poring over a combat aircraft book I had when I was in P7.
The only problem with museums like this is that the planes are all so close it's difficult to get a decent shot. Today's alternatives start here.
I'd forgotten how huge the Lightning is: the pilot was sitting on two huge engines with wings and a tail attached. Fast though - Mach 2 - and out performed all of the more recognisable cold war planes from the US: F-14, F-15, F-16, F-104.
Seems like a good opportunity to have some Blue Oyster Cult (spot the deliberate mistake).
