Life with Alice

A Parade!

Sunny skies, so we skipped the underground and strolled leisurely down toward Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guards. We thought that would be kind of cool to have seen. It turned out that a couple of other people had made that same decision on this beautiful Easter Monday. People everywhere, including perched up all over the huge statue in front. You would think it was a coronation or something. elirin's headcount gave the number one hundred thousand.

In the end, we had a great view of everything, and lots of parading, shouting and marching band playing later, they had changed whatever it was that needed changing and all went their separate ways. We liked the horses best, really beautiful and disciplined.

Some high-end shopping at the Buckingham Palace gift shop inexplicably ended with us coming home with a brown knitted rabbit. It doesn't have a name and is unnaturally clean, hasn't been anywhere, obviously. Weird.

Calm day today. We chilled a bit in Hyde Park, and are having an early night because elirin has theatre tickets for tonight.
