Black Cockatoo

These are very different from the ubiquitous sulphur-crests: much less harsh and brash-sounding, and much less likely to be anywhere near hoomins.

Forgive the utterly stupid crop, but when you see a black cockatoo, you shoot it.

With a camera, duh.

I heard this one for a few minutes before I saw it; I went out with my camera wandering about trying to see where it was hanging about. After a while I identified the group of trees; then it suddenly sounded like it was on the move; up came the camera; it flew across the road; snappity-snap.
