We were expecting something, the news had been on the grapevine, so Merlin's first walk for nearly a fortnight was along the Gunpowder Factory path.

This local group were filming what they called a "teaser," a trailer that they hoped would sell their idea to a major film company. The story follows a group of people re-enacting the Battle of Roslin and owes a little to the films "The Three Amigos" and "Brigadoon" The Scottish acting contingent, seemingly, fall through a hole in the space-time continuum while they are waiting for their English counterparts to arrive and, what should turn up but the original army of 1303. According to the writer's daughter, with whom we had a long chat, it's a very funny story and is bound to make an extremely successful film. Don't hold your breath but, if it ever happens, remember that you heard it here first.
