Roderick Macleod 7th chief of Macleod
Went for a walk down to the beach on such a lovely day and called in at Eaglais na h-Aoidhe. This effigy is believed to be that of Roderick Macleod 7th chief of Macleod. He held Lewis during the latter part of the 15th century and died in 1498.
He is conventionally depicted as a warrior. Broadsword and spear at his sides, with helmet, mail collar, and aketon (quilted body armour).
