Happy (belated) birthday

Today was a beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL day.  It had been foggy earlier and when I got up (after 9!) the fog was sitting over the Forth a 'hilly' backdrop to the city.

I zoomed out to Homebase to but garden things and of course bought things I don't need - thank goodness for returns.  Then 4 hours in the garden, in the sun, planting plants and continuing the war on Spanish bluebells.  I will win.

Then to make the meal for the guests.  I really wasn't well organised, no dishes or serving things but luckily #3 son was here to lend a hand.  I got an Easter egg from the boys - aahh!

We sat in the garden, in the sun, and drank champagne to celebrate J's 60th and then had the lamb, pink, and then meringue and reaps and cream and birthday cake.  It was the spare one I made for the baptism but seemed fitting to use it for J since we hadn't seen her on the real day, 3 weeks ago.  Then after the meal nephew M and his wife K came by so that was a lovely surprise.  I'm left out of the other family reunions though, not invited to Bearsden tomorrow or Bonnyrig on Tuesday.  never mind, I have loads of gardening to do.

Molly has a sore tail. It looks as though she has had a bite on the end.  It's a bit droopy.  Hope it's ok.

The folks were taken home and J and D and I talked about things that we have no control over, all we can do is watch and wish that help would be accepted.

There was a glorious sky in the west when J and d left to walk home and I was left with clearing up and stacking the dishwasher.  Hoping for more sun tomorrow.
