Puerto de Pollensa
Today was out last day of serious walking and we took the old road from Lluc to Pollensa. It's a good track which, after an initial ascent, contours towards a stream bed and drops down fairly steeply before passing through groves of carob and almond trees, then zigzags through the woods. It became hotter and hotter the further we dropped down and after a good four hours or more we were relieved to see our destination in sight.
There was however a challenge on arrival, which given my day off yesterday, I felt I had to take, so it was a quick leg up 365 steps from the main square to see the view from the top - it was worth it for the amazing views of the town and the nearby coast - and worth it for the cold beer in the bar once back down in the square.
We then took a public bus to Puerto de Pollensa and our next destination, the legendary Bellavista, too old to party? Never!!!
I wanted to take today's picture back to the era of the original Bellavista, hence the monochrome.
Thank you for all your lovely comments about my folio - the light is wonderful in Mallorca, it makes such a difference...
