Osterfeuer

I have never been religious, but odd mysterious rites have a certain touch to them, and I've always felt a bit more inclined towards the pagan ones, which may have to do with the classics thing.

Every year on saturday before easter, people in the north (of Germany) burn giant piles of wood, the "easter fire" (I have no idea whether that's a thing in the English speaking world too or just a German oddity).
