The Autograph Violin concert
I really did feel like a kid in a sweetie shop this evening, surrounded by all of the violins (and a couple of cellos) that make up the 'Autograph Violin' project, the brainchild of Ezia di Labio. I've photographed some of the violins in entries over the last couple of weeks, and also Ezia herself but I feel too tired right now to add the links to the entries.
The concert took place in the lovely Park Lane chapel and was packed (I think the capacity is something like 60 people). The music was fabulous - some Mozart, Elgar and also Moonlight in Vermont which I particularly liked. At the beginning of the evening Ezia spoke a little about the project and after the performance everyone was given a glass of wine and actively encouraged to handle the instruments and, if they wished, to play them. It was really, really great.
I took lots of pics, and Ezia asked me to do a couple of group shots with her and the musicians which I was delighted to do. The guy in the photo is one of the quartet and you can see some of the violins in the background.
You can see more of my photos from this evening here.
