SETTLERS TREE

I thought I would slowly do a Tree project ( not everyday) & thought I might document the Christchurch trees.  There are some even connecting to Napolean ( poplars )  This one I came across today and ( pardon my ignorance you first four shippers )but I didnt know it existed. - Its a bit like asking the question - " Do you watch Coro Street ?" people are really a bit shy to answer - well I'm not !  I've sailed &fished for carp around Victoria Lake for more years than I care to recall and didnt know this was nearby.  I'm so glad I found it today - and yes sometimes I watch Coro Street.  The monument relates to the first place the ChCh settlers built their huts in 1851  The monument ( and I guess the tree) were planted/put there in 1908. ) . Now thats interesting.
