A lucky encounter

Like the previous days, there was a strong cold wind again today. Most of the day had been gloomy and rather wet but in the afternoon we also had the occasional sunny spell. Fortunately we were having one of them when I spotted this Great Crested Grebe while I was cycling to the supermarket after work. 

The last 2 days have been hectic at work in the run up to Easter and even though they will also be rather busy,  the next 3 days off will be most welcome. I'm hoping for a much-needed lie in tomorrow but would not be surprised if I'll wake up early out of habit.
