Naaah. I rent so it's up to the owners and/or the agent who is contracted to make good surfaces. It is up to me however to apply for repair work and I wonder if someone can answer a question I only thought of this morning when I took the photo (backblipping and I forgot to take other photos, this it it today).

I am keen for this answer but it's a long week-end. Does someone have the skills to assess or hazard a guess if this crumbled material is gyprock or if it might include friable asbestos? That the enquiry had never occurred to me before is indicator of a degree of personal carelessness. In my defence this damage was so widespread it did not cross my mind to wonder it might be unsafe (if that makes any sense at all).

On reflection, that began my train of thought,I suppose powdered gypsum cannot be healthy if it is disturbed.
