Hey Buddy!

Spring is most definitely on its way. Well, after the week of snow showers we've had - about time!

I love the leaf buds on my Katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum. They're such an intense colour - and did you notice? They also grow out directly from the trunk!

I adore this tree, it's a fairly young one in my garden. In the autumn, just before the beautiful heart-shaped leaves fall, the tree exudes an astounding smell of burnt sugar.

When I'm out and about - I've been known to stop in my tracks - sniffing. If the day is still, wandering into an invisible candy floss scented cloud is quite an experience.
