Let sleeping dogs lie

This weather seems to have worn out all the animals.

This little fella belongs to the lady who owns the salon where I go to get my eyebrows threaded.

He spends most of his time curled up in the basket, but today really enjoyed basking in the sunshine.

We've been outside most of the day too.

Eileen's house is going on the market next week, so we thought we best get the greenhouse before the photos are taken, so that prospective buyers don't wonder where it's gone!

Mr A's original idea was that he and 3 mates could each grab a corner of the greenhouse, and carry it whole (glass & all) across the back garden and into ours.

I didn't think that would work, so yesterday labelled all the panes and the frame for when we did it my way dismantled it.

Mr A quickly figured out how to remove the glass clips, things went relatively smoothly after that, with only 4 broken panes (2 by us, 2 already broken).

The hardest bit was moving the frame; Mr A again insisted I should trust him and that between us, we could easily carry it to our garden.

Over the years though, soil (probably composted leaves) had banked up around the base, so it had to be dug out before we could finally lift and move it.

It wasn't too heavy, just cumbersome and required lifting over the fence posts and various other obstacles, until it was finally in place in its new home.

It's bigger than we thought (8'x6' rather than 6'x4') but fits really well on the garden at the side of the house; this gets sun all day so it will be perfect.

We spent a good hour or so cleaning the frame; many of the joints were covered in moss and soil, but it needed doing and will make refitting the glass much easier.

The panes are the next to be cleaned, but we will do those as we go.

When it was in Eileen's garden, she had used gravel as a flooring material, so we raked this over to make it look as neat as possible. It's only fair we leave things tidy for our new neighbours.

I keep looking out the window at it; I can't believe I've finally got a greenhouse. I can't wait to get growing!
