Selsley Common
It's seldom a good idea to shoot into the Sun, but today I was gifted a few clouds. As Miss and I climbed up the slopes of Selsley Common, to overlook the Severn Vale and the sinuous river that gives it its name, we turned to seek the Skylarks that were in full song as they lifted from the grasses into the sky above us. The buttermilk sunlight caught the river in the distance, and sent everything on the ground into silhouette. The picture took a second, but listening to the song of the skylark... that was longer.
